Yay! I'm one of those people who haven't posted in a long time.
Okay, some things that have been going on:
I have a creepy friend who falls in love in strange ways. First, she started liking a super tall guy at our school, and kept her feelings hidden for months, but still gushing about him to me behind his back. Then, she told him how she felt. He told her he didn't like her, but started to. Then he pulled her head onto his lap, stuck her finger up his nose, and got weird in those ways. So after that, she'd say, "Ugh. I am so over him. He turns me off." But then an hour later, she'd say, "Oh my gosh! He's looking at me! Do you really think he likes me?" and kept this pattern up for about one or two months. Then, she really fell out of "love" with him and had a crush on..... Mr. Dennis, our science teacher. She nicknamed him "umbrella" for some reason. She kept gushing over him- how strong, or hot, or adorable he was. I tried to talk her out of it. My sister told me that he was fresh from college the year he started teaching, and this is his fourth year. So I presumed he was 28 or 29. I said to her, "You know, he's more than twice your age." And she jumped and said, "HOW DO YOU KNOW?" So I told her. Then, she smiled and said, "Oh my god. You don't know how hard I've been working to find out he's under 30!" I told her, "Ya know, you can't marry him or anything." She said, "I know," and put her hand on her heart. "That's what makes me so sad." Then, she suspected that our 40-50 year old math teacher was dating him. I asked her why. She said, "Because they always have lunch together!" I told her that she was, 1. way older than him, and 2. married. She said, "I know, but things can happen." Then I said, "They might just be friends..." "Oh, I hadn't thought of that!" said she. Her passionate, undying love is still going strong.
There are two other things wrong with her.
1. She never does her homework. EVER EVER. NEVER. We had to watch 30 minutes of the Supreme Court on T.V. and she didn't watch it. Then she asked my friend to summarize it for her, which I suppose is acceptable because our S.S. teacher is intimidating and scary. But then, when the teacher was talking about it, she pretended to have watched it, and said, "OHHHH Yayaya, I saw that! I remember that!"
2. She's.. not very intelligent. To give an example, she thought that since she got a 20/30 on her thesis essay, she got a 90% because "90 is ten points away from 100."
Bleh, more problems with school. Sorry about complaining.
Everybody at school is either
1. obsessed with their image and a wannabe
2. popular and going along with the bullies to not seem "NICE!" GASP!
3. obsessed with showing off their boobs and butt.
4. obsessed with myspace, posting pictures that seemingly took 1 hour to take because of their unnaturally "fabulous" outfit. Their friends say they're gorgeous, but they aren't. Plastic with makeup.
5. obsessed with talking with people of the opposite gender about their body parts. Girls say:
"bra"
"underwear"
"boob"
and boys say:
"erec..."
"bon*r"
"pen island"
Our school is so messed up. I can't wait for high school. All of my friends are shallow wannabes who act like I'm lame around the bullies/cool people because I'm the only smart one. Oh, #6:
obsessed with saying "I'm such a klutz" or "I'm so stupid" or "I'm so ditzy" or "I'm so blonde. Ha." So basically, this stupid popular kid was sitting at our table, and he was like, "Let's all cheat off of Hye-Jung's test!" and my "friend" was like, "*mumble*something I couldn't hear." So I turned to her, and she was all trying to act cool and suave, and starting saying, "I was kidday-ing. Gosh. I'm kidding. I'm kidding, Hye-jung! Gash!!" and I'm like, "I didn't even hear what you said..."
Yes, our school is messed up. But I'm glad I'm not alone. Seems like everyone's having friend issues.
But, after you've heard my complaints, onto Valentine's Day!
Geena, your pens are awesome. They look so cool and are so creative. We had a snow day on Valentine's Day, but my friend gave me a homemade heart-shaped cookie with pink sprinkles attached with a valentine's ribbon to a heart-shaped container filled with heart-shaped sprinkles the next day. Yep, lots of hearts! Rae's flower frenzy program seems so cool! We don't have anything like that. Maybe, in high school, I should try to create one. It'd be sweet.. except for the "Shrouds of Mystery" (insert dramatic music here) clouding anonymous notes, like Rae got. ^.^
Hey, does anybody know any good music or songs? Other than Geena and Rae's great recommendations, I'm in a music slump.
Ooh! The subject of CTY! I almost forgot.
So I know that Scott is doing the Critical Essay: Pop Culture in Lancaster, and M.E.'s doing it in Pennsylvania. What are the other of you doing? I like Islam, Law and Politics in US History, International Politics, Youth and Society: Service Learning, Probability and Game Theory, Mathematical Logic, Individually Paced Math Sequence, Intro to Biomedical Sciences, Fast-Paced High School Biology, and Fast-Paced H.S. Chemistry. Critical Essay: Pop Culture sounds good, too. Do you guys have any feedback or thoughts? Good? Bad? Boring? Weird? :)
So anyway, have a great February vacation! I just got a cold, and my nose is a fountain of snot. But I'll enjoy the sleep! And the little flakes of snow falling from the heavens. Ice is good too.
