Hey guys!!!!

Okay I had the best day ever the other day!!!! First of all, I saw this free dance performance in Manhattan in the morning. And then later in the day, I got a backstage tour of Spamalot because my mother won this thing where she got a free haircut by the hairdresser for the show. And then that night we got tickets for the show and saw it and it was amazing!!!

But the part that made my day really awesome was that I met the cast of Spring Awakening!!!!!!!! Which I am obsessed with!!!!!! We had two hours to kill before the show, so my mom and I went and hung out at the stage door and waited for them to show up and I got 5 of their autographs, pictures with 4 out of those 5 people, and I saw 5 other people that were walking too fast for me to catch up with. And since we were like the only people there, we got to stand and have conversations with them for awhile and they were all really sweet and nice. And I met THE lead in the show who I like, idolize, and he was so nice and it was just an overall awesome experience!!!

Thought I'd share.

hey there :)

hi everyonee. school is starting up for me on 9/4 too and freshman orientation is in like 4 days and i am SO extremely excited! except our high school is under major construction so literally ALL of the classrooms have moved, and there are no more chairs at all in the auditorium, and the parking lots are blocked by a gate that only opens sometimes, and it's just very confusing. oh well should be fun though. :)

my summer has been getting boring, and i don't have anything exciting to update about. OH! wait i do because i kind of need advice- basically at cty there was this kid named david cho who sat next to me in math and he was kind of a weird kid but people were nice and stuff.. and after cty ended he called me a few times which i missed, and texted me twice saying: (i think i showed hi, amita, & kingston already so yeah you'll have to read it twice if you are reading at all)

"Hey Geena! There's something that I've wanted to say for a while. I've never had a chance to tell you, but I love you. Er, well, this is David."

"Hey! I wanted to tell you something at the dance but I never had a chance. You might have gotten a similar TXT, but this is my 2nd time TXTing. I love you."

and basically i didn't send anything back because i DON'T love him or anything but didn't want to be mean and i figured he'd get over it because he was double-sessioning at cty and would probably forget about it if i didn't reply, except he came back from session 2 a while ago and emailed me asking if i got his texts (hahahahah ALSO THE SUBJECT TITLE WAS "akward turtle"!! HAHAHA) and well i don't know... i don't know what to do because i haven't sent anything back yet but i feel like he's going to keep emailing and i feel really mean already :( my first thought as a response to the email though, was something totally off topic and stupid, i.e.

david cho: hey geena did you get my texts etc etc
me: peanuts are one of the ingredients in dynamite.
david cho: ????
me: fish scales are one of the ingredients in lipstick!

and just confuse him if you see what i mean, hehe. (btw those are true facts and they're from the book of useless information which is a surprisingly good read) so i started to write an email back but i didn't because i thought that would be too mean. what should i do???

ok on another note, i have been home for the past few weeks basically just VACUUMING ALL DAY! i've been cleaning like CRAZY except the house isn't even clean which just goes to prove how much of a loser i am. now that i think about it i didn't really get anything done this summer, because like in the beginning i had this great big list of academic goals i wanted to achieve, such as review all of my old chinese textbooks and relearn every character that i missed and read 20+ books and research every country of the world generally and a ton of other nerdy stuff but in the end i got zilch of it done. makes me feel like crap but dfsdkf whatever :p those goals were kind of always unattainable anyway (especially for me, and for only the summer) because i guess maybe i've been busier than i feel like. hmm oh yeah and my birthday (this is so late) was amazing!!! although i don't feel older or anything but it was funfunfun :)

ha i made a pointless long post again, i forgot how refreshing it was to do that! ok well if you actually read it all then have a cupcake! *gives you a cupcake* because i made DELICIOUS beautiful cupcakes yesterday and i've already eaten like 10. ew lol

much love,
geena

Okay, no one has posted in like, an ETETNITY...

...so I thought I'd make a post. My summer has been all "fits and starts" in the ways of fun. Like, I'll go for two weeks where I'll have plenty to do, and then several weeks where I'll have nothing to do and sit around the house by myself all day and read and stuff like that. Which I guess isn't all that bad, some time to myself and all. But since both my parents are working all year round it's like this a lot, so some days I'm bored out of my mind and feel like I'm going to scream if I don't have some human contact.

Has anyone here heard of Spring Awakening? It's this Broadway show that I'm OBSESSED with and I saw it for the first time last week. It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really am obsessed with it. Like, I know the names of all the actors in it and the lyrics to all the songs and stuff. I think Wicked is still my favorite, but Spring Awakening is an extremely strong second. Scott might remember that at CTY this year my roommate and I would always listen to the soundtrack during classs, because we were allowed to listen to our iPods when we were reading and writing and stuff. And it doesn't hurt that the guy who has the lead, Jonathan Groff, is VERY cute.

I just finished reading Little Women. It was really good, but I was mad at one of the characters in the beginning for not marrying who I thought she should have. And then the guy went and married her sister, who annoyed the heck out of me. But it turned out alright in the end. Now I'm reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I'm halfway through, and it's pretty funny so far. Funnier than I expected. Though the explanations of some of the spaceships and things kind of confuse me.

When do you guys start school? Just think, we're all going to be in high school this year. I start Stuyvesant on September 4th. Curse Labor Day for being so early this year. I love the summer-it's my favorite season, hands down-and I don't want it to end. It goes to fast, like you blink and it's over and you can't even believe it's been here and you feel like you wasted it even though you've actually been doing stuff. It doesn't even feel like summer here-it's like 50 degrees out. I'm wearing fleece sweatpants, a long sleeve shirt, and fuzzy slipper socks right now. And I haven't turned the fan on in days. It's so rainy and gross out I can't even go outside and read. Blah. Very boring.

Is anyone out there? There are such long stretches between posts now. Don't forget about CTY year 1!!!

M.E.

homeee :)

bonjourr :) i am back yes back! from bike camp :D it seems like everyone goes to bike camp... but anywayssss it was SOSOSOSOSOOO amazing. no joke. it was the funnest 5 and a half days ever. you guys should all go, no matter how athletic or un- you are. cuz truth be told i am pretty unathletic myself. yeah i can run fast. erm thats about it. we biked all across Martha's Vineyard ot p=laces like Oak Bluffs, Gay Head (aw lol), two beaches, and some shopping centers too! the biking was pretty intense for me at least (30 miles on average each day) but it wasn't too bad! the uphills were killer but the flats and downhills were incredible and surprisingly biking doesnt tire you out that much even when you bike alot! you make alot of new friends too, and i stayed in a hostel which is like a cheap hotel with bunk beds. They have alot in Europe but not really the US. but seriously I miss it so much although deff not as much as CTY last year :)

anyways these days have been halfway exciting. nothing special I guess but still better than nothing. I'm doing summer reading HOLY CRAP how could i forget??? gah okay i forgot to mention I lost my phone yesterday :( i was at B&N and then i went to read people magazine cause the headline was like "GREAT HAIR IDEAS" (and I'm getting my hair cut on Friday morning (FYI)! :D) after my mom checked out. and I remember putting my phone in my bag ..but its not there :( so it should be at B&N right? but no, I called them and they don't have it. so i checked everywhere possible, computer desk, car, etc and i'm going back to B&N during lucnh to do some investigation myself (hahhhh). grrr. I only had it for a little more than 3 months too :( Anyways back to summer reading loll. has anyone read anything good lately? I'm either doing the notebook by nicholas sparks or this anita shreve book about a girl and her father finding a baby in the snow.

ohoh and more on my haircut :) My hair's pretty long right now. its 4 inches past my shoulders i thinkk so I want to get it a little shorter than shoulder length? ish. and I have side bangs (think nicole richie stylee) but should i just cut them into regular blunt bangs? or should i get some kind of bob? AHH I HAVE NO CLUE. lol decisionssss.

ANYWAYS.......... i think im done. bye guysss<3

A Post

Hi everyone!! It seems like not many people are really doing anything on the blog, so I thought I'd make a post. How is everybody? What's everyone taking for high school next year? This is what I'm taking (exact course names):

honors algebra 2 and geometry
ninth-grade english
world history 300 C.E. to 1885
introductory physics I
spanish 3 honors
latin 2 honors
photography minor I

Do you guys have summer reading to do? We have to read House of the Scorpion, a book on the book list, and a book of our choice. I finished the Kite Runner and thought it was really great, but so sad!! I think it'll be the book of my choice... it wasn't on the list. I was a little surprised by that. Plus, all I've been reading have been Nicholas Sparks books. And I don't really want to choose one of his books. For the book list book, I'm either doing The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay or A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines. Have any of you guys read those books? They both sound really sad... but at least they freshen my current collection of summer-read (past tense) books. Basically all Nicholas Sparks.

Do any of you guys remember that stupid stalker guy I posted about? Here's a pic of him:

*cringe*
lol I zoomed in on his face.
Thought you might want to see what he looked like...

Anyway, I'm so psyched for high school... mostly for new beginnings and the feeling that life is taking a turn. And other cool stuff that middle school doesn't give you. Especially school shopping. I love school shopping!! Just getting crisp new supplies makes everything feel so new. I also vow every year not to doodle all over my pages in pen or write crap notes because I'm lazy and know I'll re-write them later. I always do it anyway though... ;)

Life is pretty much boring. Pretty cliche, but all I do is read a book or go on the computer all day and promise myself I'll go to bed at 11. Last night I read a book until 3 am and woke up at 1 pm. I'm pathetic. My summer could probably be way more fun, but I'm just wasting away... eroding like a chunk of grainy rock in the pressurous wind. (note to self: use that in an essay next year.) just kidding. it wasn't that great. :D

So besides Geena, is anyone else's birthday coming up? I know I've asked lots of times about birthdays but I never seem to write them down.

Bye-ya,
Hi-ya

Blow out the virtual candles!

After the boys of summer have gone...

Hey guys! I'm back home after a total of 6 weeks in 2 different camps. Let me start out this post by telling you camp was amazing on so many different levels.
I went to Yale for my first camp for 4 weeks. It was a really rigorous program because I had to take AP US Government and write a 20 page research paper by the end of it... We had so much homework and they didn't care how late we had to stay up to do it as long as it got done. Due to this crazy amount of stress, my roommates and I got extremely close and also had some intense fights about printers and stuff. It was such a movie experience! I felt like I was in a movie the whole time! Speaking of movies, they were also shooting Indiana Jones and the scenes from the next Sisterhood of Traveling Pants in the Yale campus so I met Henry Ford and Alexis Bledel. It was awesome! Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me at the time but saying I met them makes it sound uber cool ahahahaha. Also, the crazy stress brought on some serious hormones from both girls and guys. The dances at this place were like borderline raunchy and CTY dances were, no offense, nothing compared to these. And yes, I met some fabulous guys ;). I'm guilty of admitting that several times throughout the program I looked back at CTY with a feeling of how awesome it was but it was a little juvenile at times. I'm not above CTY or any of you guys and I know that but it was just that I realized that I had learned so much from you guys at CTY there was little else I could have earned from the program had I gone again this year. Instead I went to Yale where I was once again faced with a group of kids that took my breath away with how much knowledge they had to share with me! I had a feeling of deja vu because that's how you guys were last year! I was really upset to leave Yale... alot of the kids from there weren't from the East Coast but I'm still keeping in touch with them (yes the guys too) We had this whole Yale Goggles thing going on because I swear the guys got better looking every day... And once you leave you realize they weren't that great at any time. But practically everyone I met was just so interesting and I had to sit down and have a conversation with them. My professor was the most amazing teacher I had ever studied with. The way he taught politics was just so unbiased but wise on so many levels. So the social life, the atmosphere, the studies at Yale were so so amazing. I can't wait to go back next year...
Tennis camp in Virginia was physically straining while Yale was mentally challenging. 7 or 8 hours of tennis a day and I still didn't lose weight because I ended up snacking away with my friends at like midnight... Again, I met some cool guys too.
Oh wow, I can't believe this summer is over... It was amazing...
For those who went to CTY, don't lose heart. The bar was set pretty high after last year.
I gotta run now...

HI!

ok sorry to ditch the blog for a couple of weeks and suddenly come back but HEY! yes people haven't really been posting but i hope you're all doing really well. :)

after cty things have been kind of the same as last year, i'm doing bike camp again although i am enjoying it a bunch more than i did last year. it's really exhausting and i always come home and immediately run into the shower and curl up in bed and nap for a few hours, eat dinner and do some work, and then go to sleep again. :) i baked cupcakes today with a few friends and then fell asleep at my friend's house, lol. otherwise... hmm the HARRY POTTER BOOK! ahhh soo so good and i'm rereading it now and it's already AUGUST! well my birthday's in 4 days and hopefully it will be funfunfun. i have this humongous reading list on my desk still but i've only read 3 books this whole summer, not counting harry potter. which is PATHETIC! because it is the summer, and now i only have one month left and at the rate i'm going, maybe i'll finish 3 more books. :p which is actually pretty ridiculous when i think about it because i love reading a ton but i guess i haven't found the time. hm i'm such an unbalanced person, because when i'm busy i get way too busy except then other times i bum at the house for weeks at times and don't get anything done. anyway that's my lame update because not much interesting stuff is happening. i am really interested in what all of you have been up to this summer though, if anyone is still reading this of course. :p so to repeat what m.e. said, post! i promise i will comment and send love etc :)

bye, talk to you all soooon
love,
geena
