After the boys of summer have gone...
Hey guys! I'm back home after a total of 6 weeks in 2 different camps. Let me start out this post by telling you camp was amazing on so many different levels.
I went to Yale for my first camp for 4 weeks. It was a really rigorous program because I had to take AP US Government and write a 20 page research paper by the end of it... We had so much homework and they didn't care how late we had to stay up to do it as long as it got done. Due to this crazy amount of stress, my roommates and I got extremely close and also had some intense fights about printers and stuff. It was such a movie experience! I felt like I was in a movie the whole time! Speaking of movies, they were also shooting Indiana Jones and the scenes from the next Sisterhood of Traveling Pants in the Yale campus so I met Henry Ford and Alexis Bledel. It was awesome! Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me at the time but saying I met them makes it sound uber cool ahahahaha. Also, the crazy stress brought on some serious hormones from both girls and guys. The dances at this place were like borderline raunchy and CTY dances were, no offense, nothing compared to these. And yes, I met some fabulous guys ;). I'm guilty of admitting that several times throughout the program I looked back at CTY with a feeling of how awesome it was but it was a little juvenile at times. I'm not above CTY or any of you guys and I know that but it was just that I realized that I had learned so much from you guys at CTY there was little else I could have earned from the program had I gone again this year. Instead I went to Yale where I was once again faced with a group of kids that took my breath away with how much knowledge they had to share with me! I had a feeling of deja vu because that's how you guys were last year! I was really upset to leave Yale... alot of the kids from there weren't from the East Coast but I'm still keeping in touch with them (yes the guys too) We had this whole Yale Goggles thing going on because I swear the guys got better looking every day... And once you leave you realize they weren't that great at any time. But practically everyone I met was just so interesting and I had to sit down and have a conversation with them. My professor was the most amazing teacher I had ever studied with. The way he taught politics was just so unbiased but wise on so many levels. So the social life, the atmosphere, the studies at Yale were so so amazing. I can't wait to go back next year...
Tennis camp in Virginia was physically straining while Yale was mentally challenging. 7 or 8 hours of tennis a day and I still didn't lose weight because I ended up snacking away with my friends at like midnight... Again, I met some cool guys too.
Oh wow, I can't believe this summer is over... It was amazing...
For those who went to CTY, don't lose heart. The bar was set pretty high after last year.
I gotta run now...

Ah! That's so awesome you met Alexis Bledel!!! But all of that homework does sound pretty intense. And guess who was at my site? Gillian from Anne's hall last year!! I didn't talk to her that much, but we discovered we both have an obsession with this Broadway show Spring Awakening (she's seen it three times. I was blasting the music in my room right next to the laundry room one morning and she heard it and came in. Haha. At first she didn't know who I was though. I had to say I was your roomie last year and then she was like, "OHHHHHH!!!!" It was good to see her again though.
I love great teachers. They're so worth it. What's the Yale camp called? It sounds fun.. and stressful but still fun :).
