Admission results

The result for this year's boarding application came in the mail today. I did not do well. I got a few wait lists, (Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Mercersburg, and Asheville). Northfield Mount Hermon admitted me but put me on the financial wait list.
However, I already know their game. They will put me on the wait list like last year, and then at the last minute- tell me that there are no funds and that I cannot go to boarding school. I know the chance of admission is minute on the wait list. There are just no funds for poor students like me. Last year I already experienced this situation. Which means (at the moment) I do not have a boarding school to attend.

here's an excerpt from my Choate letter:

Dear Emily:

For the last several weeks the Admission Committee has spent much time and effort discussing a large number of candidates. This year the competition was as tough as it has ever been in the history of the school. It is with respect for and acknowledgement of your effort that, unfortunately, I must inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to Choate Rosemary Hall.

You should know that the decision was not based on your credentials--which were quite impressive--but rather on our inability to offer you the financial aid you need to attend our school. Unfortunately, our budget is not large enough to accommodate all the worthy applicants. We certainly regret having to make these painful decisions, because, quite simply, if we had more financial aid we would have offered you a place at our school.

Again, we are sorry that we are unable to offer you a spot at Choate Rosemary Hall and we wish you the best. It is truly our loss.

Sincerely,

Ray Diffley, III
Director of Admissions

Kinda depresses me a little; but i'm already used to it. I had the same results last year, except this year I just know the game a little better. What happened with you guys? I hope you guys had good results, unlike me ;__;

Poor Emily! That's really too bad about the schools. But have you noticed that all of these schools have really funny sounding names?
