Checking In...

Hello class. I miss you dearly... who's doing CTY this year!?!? (I expect you're all taking writing courses because I see that you have become quite amazing blogger-columnists, photo-journalists, & etc.) What's up, what's new, what's cookin'?

I can/can't believe you're still writing! You've far, far surpassed my hopes and dreams.

Till next time,

Christina TA :)

Hey, its nice to hear from you after FOREVER!!!!
shame on you! No, just kidding!

Its actually really easy to forget to check the blog.

Im not gonna go to CTY this year but i did get like, a ton of awards at the CTY Ceremony of Arizona. Basically, theres not a lot of smart people in Arizona, so I got a lot of the top scores in the state.

What are you doing?

Oh my god!!! I can't believe you haven't forgotten about us already. It is pretty amazing that most of us are still blogging.

And I'm doing Critical Essay: Pop Culture at Lancaster this summer. How's about you? Are you doing CTY again this summer?

FIRST OF ALL:

Cherry, stop it. I would never forget you! :) Actually, I was in an AX outlet in Nevada around February and thought of you. I didn't buy anything, but I thoroughly enjoy their jeans.

Amy, congratulations! That is very good news. What are you doing instead this summer? As I told Cherry, I was in Nevada around February. It was hot, and I saw a lot of retired folk and cacti (sp?), so I thought of you then, too.

ME, you will absolutely LOVE the pop culture course. It is a perfect fit for you. It's one of the most fascinating courses out there, hands down, and you'll make leaps and bounds in your writing. Very exciting stuff. Still dancing?

I just bought a new book of essays, it's called "Sleepaway: Writings on Summer Camp." It's quite funny, and reminds me of CTY in a lot of ways. I don't know about you all, but this year has flown by for me. I've been really busy taking five grad courses a semester and working. Unfortunately, I will not be teaching CTY this year because I have a permanent position (9am-5pm, ...it's official, I'm an adult now...) with the State Education Department. You guys are great. I talk about our class non-stop to all of my colleagues. Keep it up, I'll be checking in more often. :)

omg...
christina it was sooo nice of you to like pop in randomly.
it made cty seem more like... real. (yes i realize i took a writing class with you and can not come up with a more appropriate word than 'real')

I even remember the mints in the bathroom and how like the classrooms seemed so clean and how the tiles sparkled... but then we always brought in the dirt and grass.

wow i'm kind of sad i'm not going back this year.

MISS YOU ALL <3
